Room Supplies in Desktell

  • Desktell enables hotels, villas, and resorts to manage room supply requests, allowing guests to conveniently order utilities through the Guest Service Portal for a seamless stay experience.

Room Supplies Settings

  • Customize how the Room Supplies feature appears on the Guest Service Portal. Set display details, enable request options, and define SLAs to ensure prompt delivery of in-room essentials and enhance guest convenience.

How to update the Room Supplies Settings?

  1. Navigate to your workspace

    • Log in to your desktell account using proper credentials.
    • Click on your workspace link to enter the workspace.
  2. Navigate to the Customize CSP

    • Click on the Administration tab in the top navigation bar.

    • In the Administration section, click on the Customize CSP tab in the side navigation bar.

    • In the Desktell CSP, navigate to the Settings tab under ROOM SUPPLIES label.

    • Update the Room Supplies Settings by filling in the necessary details:

      1. Display Name: Give a suitable name for the room supplies tile visible in the room service portal.
      2. Display Description: Give a short description for the room supplies tile.
      3. Display Order: Provide the display order number at which the tile will be visible in the portal.
      4. SLA (Service Level Agreement): Provide the SLA time to fulfill the room supply request.
    • Click on the Save button to update the cabs settings.

    NOTE:

    • SLA (Service Level Agreement) refers to the duration of time added to the creation time of the service request, and this total time duration is used as the time limit to fulfill the request successfully.

    • The tile active status can be updated using the IsActive checkbox(click on the checkbox, then save the updates by clicking in the Save button).


Item Categories

  • Create and manage item categories such as Toiletries, Linens, Beverages, and more to organize room supply items, helping guests easily find and request what they need.

How to add an Item Category ?

  1. Navigate to the Customize CSP tab in the Administration section.

  2. Add a New Item Category by following the steps given below

    • In Desktell CSP, navigate to the Item Categories tab under ROOM SUPPLIES label.
    • In the Item Categories tab, click on the New Category button at the top, and fill in the following details -
      • Category Name: Name the category to label and group room supply items for easy guest access.
      • Display Order: Specify the display order number to arrange the order of the item categories on the room supplies tile.
    • Click on the Save button to create a new item category.
  3. To update the active status of the item category, click on the IsActive toggle button and accept the dialog box message for the respective item category.

  4. To edit the existing item category, click on the respective category name link, make the necessary updates, and click on the Save button.


How to add Items in the room supplies ?

  1. Navigate to the Customize CSP tab in the Administration section.

  2. Add a New Item by following the steps given below -

    • In Desktell CSP, navigate to the Items tab under the ROOM SUPPLIES label.
    • In the Items tab, click on the Add New Item button at the top, and fill in the following details -
      1. Item Name: Give a simple name to the item.
      2. Item Code: Assign a unique code to the item.
      3. Description: Give a suitable description to the item.
      4. Item Price: Specify the price of the item.
      5. Category: Select an appropriate category for the item from the dropdown list.
      6. Item Tax: Specify the item tax as a percentage.
    • Click on the Save button to create a new item.
  3. To update the active status of the item, click on the IsActive toggle button and accept the dialog box message for the respective item.

  4. To edit the item, follow the below given steps -

    • Navigate to the Item tab.
    • Click on the Edit item button of the respective item that needs to be updated.
    • Make the necessary changes in the item.
    • Click on the Save button to save the changes.

NOTE: The room supply requests submitted by the guests via the service portal will be visible in the Requests tab under ROOM SUPPLIES label.


How to configure room supply settings


How to update the status of the room supply requests made by the guests ?

  1. Navigate to the Requests tab under ROOM SUPPLIES label.

  2. Click on the room supply request (work order) that you wish to update.

    • Customizable fields are:

      • Update work order status: Update the work order status from OPEN, IN_PROGRESS, ON_HOLD, DONE according to the actual status of the room supply request using the Update Work Order Status buttons.

      • Team and Team Member update: Update the assigned team and team members from the information page of the room supply request.

      • For other updates, click on the Edit Work Order button at the top.
